How the Top Banks Directory works
For each country the directory lists major commercial banks with their headquarters, listed ticker, sector and SWIFT/BIC code, plus the domestic routing format such as ABA, sort code, BSB or IFSC.
A BIC has four parts: a 4-letter bank code, 2-letter country code, 2-character location code and an optional 3-character branch code. The validator checks this structure.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between SWIFT and BIC?
They are the same code. BIC (Business Identifier Code) is the ISO 9362 standard, and SWIFT is the network that assigns and uses it.
Can I use this BIC to send money?
Treat it as a reference only. Always confirm the exact BIC and branch with the receiving bank before sending an international transfer.
